The Zynga Gaming World

Zynga has one of the most popular games on Facebook: Mafia Wars. Everyday, 4 to 5 million players log on Facebook to run their mafia families. Of course, they also make other games such as: Farmville, Special Forces, Vampire Wars, Street Racing, Hold’em Poker, etc.

I think Zynga should consider building an interconnection among their games. An interconnection is the unique attribute amongst different products made by the same company, which improves the overall user experience as the number of product ownership increases.

For example, if BMW decides to interconnect their cars, the owners of three BMW cars would have a much better user experience than someone with just one. Of course, most businesses don’t design with interconnection in mind, and alas, wasting a perfectly good opportunity to increase customer loyalty.

Now back to Zynga games. How cool would it be if I can hire my friends’ characters in Special Forces to attack my enemies in my Mafia War? Or if I could use vampires in Vampire Wars to raid someone’s farm in Farmville? What about purchasing super cool cars in Street Racing and use them to finish special jobs in Mafia Wars? Or use the money I have in Mafia Wars to play in mega Hold’em Poker tournaments?

As you can see, the possibilities are pretty endless. The best part of building an interconnection and creating an actual Zynga Gaming World is that not only will it add instant variety and expansion to the existing games, it will also cause traffic to flow both ways, and thus helping Zynga to better utilize the popularity of their best games.
