The entry fee for the World Series of Poker Main Event is $10,000. In 2008, close to 7,000 players participated and the prize for first place was a little over $9,000,000. Pretty good ROI, wouldn’t you agree?
Here is a question: if you start playing in the event this year, and you do it for the next 30 years, how likely is it for you to win the event once?
The answer: not very likely.
Now what does this have to do with your business? It’s not a very smart move to spend your time and money and hope to hit home-runs every time you make an investment.
