Allow me to introduce a brand new online marketing measurement.
CGR: Conversation Generation Rate
A performance measure used to evaluate the effectiveness of an online campaign and/or to compare the effectiveness of a number of different campaigns.
CGR should be calculated separately for each different platform including: popular search engines, social media websites, forums, etc.
The Conversation Generation Rate Formula:
| CGR = | total conversations – old conversations total conversations
|
old conversations is defined as the conversations which existed before the campaign launch date.
Keep in mind different standards should be used on different platforms. For example, there are usually less forum conversations than search engine results and/or social media websites. The quality of the conversations should also be taken into consideration for evaluating purposes since a copy of the press release is not nearly as valuable as a well written, in-depth review.
CGR is generally used as the key index to determine the “remarkableness” (the number of people who choose to talk about you) of your online marketing campaigns.
