Wobo Wednesday #3: CopyThatGame

Wobo Library updated, added: CopyThatGame.

Wobo Name(s):
CopyThatGame, Copy That Game

Our Remark:
This software is said to be able to be “the most advanced, complete system that will let you copy any and all of your video games completely and easily. The CopyThatGame system comes complete with state of the art software and video and text tutorials that will take you step by step through the whole process of copying your video games. The video tutorial and state of the art software make CopythatGame the most powerful and easy to use system available today.”

So what’s the real story?
While we are not commenting on whether or not it is legal to make copies of copyprotected games, CDs, or DVDs. CopyThatGame has just one little problem: it is in fact selling a software called ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com), which can be downloaded FREE of charge, for $29.99!

It is made clear by the owner of ImgBurn on his website that he didn’t authorized this:

First and foremost, ImgBurn is a freeware tool. You cannot bundle it with your own commercial application and you cannot sell it in any way, shape or form.

and apparently, CopyThatGame didn’t even bother to change the name of the software. You can see some complaints here.

The Bottom Line:
Why pay for it when you can get the same software for free at imgburn.com?
