The End of Youtube, Twitter, and Facebook

So YouTube is doomed to lose half a billion dollars in 2009; Twitter can’t monetize anything; and Facebook has a business model of “getting hundreds and hundreds of million of people who don’t bring any advertising with them at all”.

The problem, though, is even when the “new thing” fails, people are not going back to the old ways.

We move on.

Work to better the new thing, or invent a newer thing, but don’t waste your time on defending the old way.
